NHSC Zika Loan Repayment Program

WHEN TO APPLY

Health care providers can receive up to $70,000 in exchange for a three-year commitment at NHSC-approved sites as they work to address the health effects and risks associated with Zika. As of December 14, 2016, there were 129 travel-associated cases and 34,139 locally acquired cases in territories, with more cases being reported daily. In response, the NHSC launched a new loan repayment program to support NHSC clinicians who have a desire to serve in these high-need areas. Like the NHSC Loan Repayment Program, the award is tax-free and is made at the beginning of your service, immediately lowering your student loan balance.

  • Be eligible to participate as a provider in the Medicare, Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, as appropriate;
